Link-Pack’s Excise Stamp Labeler is a simple and reliable system for automating the application of excise stamps to pre-filled and sealed cannabis pouches of various sizes. It is a versatile system that can be adapted to many styles of bags containing cannabis flowers or related products requiring an excise stamp. The Allen Bradley PLC and intuitive display saves settings for each bag size and allows for quick changovers. For example, it can use pouches with child-resistant zippers, bottom gussets or single four-sided pouches.
It is possible to feed the bag conveyor with the zipper facing the front or the side. With pneumatic activation of the swivel spout (or label release plate), the release plate will apply the excise tax label and quickly retract to clear the gusset. When necessary, a secondary foam roller can apply additional pressure to ensure perfect label adhesion.
Our excise stamp pouch labeler is primarily used off-line, so it is considered a semi-automatic solution requiring manual feeding by operators. The bags are placed on a continuous motion lugged conveyor and the side guides ensure proper alignment before they reach the labeling unit. However, the design also allows bags to be fed directly from a bagger or conveyor as long as they are discharged consistently.
