Federal RTRI Grant: Link Pack Invests in Growth and Targets the Mexican Market
Government of Canada Support to Diversify Our Markets
The Government of Canada has confirmed its support for Link Pack through the Regional Tariff Response Initiative (RTRI), administered by Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED).
This contribution of makes Link Pack one of five manufacturing companies in the region selected as part of the announcement made on May 20, 2026. The program’s mandate: help Canadian manufacturers diversify their markets and build resilience against American trade tariffs.
Interview with Jean-François Biron, CEO of Link Pack Group Inc at 2:06.
Why Mexico, and Why Now?
Nearshoring is reshaping Mexican manufacturing at an accelerating pace. Hundreds of American and international companies are relocating production to Mexico to shorten supply chains and sidestep tariff pressures. That shift is generating rapidly growing demand for automated packaging and labeling equipment across key sectors: food and beverage, chemicals, and supplements.
Yes, the Mexican market already has established players. But competition doesn’t equal saturation, especially if existing offerings fall short of the quality, availability, and after-sales support that industrial buyers actually need. That’s exactly where Link Pack shines.
The Link Pack Advantage in Automated Packaging
Our packaging automation equipment like labelers, destacking systems, and automatic lidding solutions are designed and built in Quebec for sustained industrial output. Every machine is developed in close collaboration with our customers and backed by a technical team that knows the equipment inside and out.
Designed with globally recognized components and available in wash-down construction, our machines meet the non-negotiable standards of food and beverage, chemical, and supplement production environments.
What we offer a Mexican buyer that many overseas suppliers simply can’t match:
- Proven build quality. Our machines are built with globally recognized components and available in wash-down construction; a non-negotiable requirement in food, beverage, and chemical production.
- Responsive technical support. A team that picks up, knows the equipment, and gets problems solved.
- Warranty and support without the runaround. Our equipment comes with a 12-month parts and labour warranty, with replacement parts shipped quickly from Canada. No lengthy intercontinental lead times. When a line goes down, every day counts.
Expo Pack México: Building Our Presence on the Ground
We’ll be at Expo Pack México this June. The goal is straightforward: meet potential distributors and agents, explore the market firsthand, and lay the groundwork for a serious entry into Latin America.
2026 is our year of exploration. In 2027, we plan to return as full exhibitors, with a stronger presence and partnerships already in place.
The IRRT funding supports this approach with real resources: travel, targeted marketing campaigns, and full adaptation of our sales materials for the Spanish-speaking market.
